 | | Description: | Ferenc Kiss was born in Budapest in 1943. He began to play the violin and piano at the age of 5, first learning with his father who was concert master of the Hungarian Radio Orchestra, then at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music from 1959, and also inDüsseldorf with Sándor Végh. He made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 20, and from 1965 he played throughout Europe, Mexico and Japan, as well as making recordings for numerous Radio and TV Stations all over the world. From 1963 he became concertmaster of the Philharmonia Hungarica, then later at Opera Saarbrücken 1968-74, München Symphonie Orchestra 1974-79, and from1979 at the German State Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been a guest concertmaster and soloist for many years with orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, Köln Radio Orchestra, Opera Nürnberg, Basque National Orchestra (San Sebastian), Orchestra Sinfonica di Bolzano e Trento, Symphony Orchestra Xalapa (Mexico) and Pro Arte Orchestra München. This is his first Portrait album., Runningtime: 00:00:00, Labelcode BMNX312473.2This CD offers an intimate portrait of concertmaster and violinist Ferenc Kiss, highlighting the finesse and expressivity of his violin playing. Through a selection of works for solo violin and small ensemble, the program presents the different facets of his art: noble, singing lines, finely worked phrasing and a secure virtuosity that always remains at the service of the music. The listener is invited to follow a coherent musical path in which lyrical pages alternate with more brilliant and rhythmic pieces, creating a rich and varied listening experience.
"Portrait Konzertmeister Ferenc Kiss Violine" is conceived as a showcase for the violin in all its nuances of colour and emotion. The recording emphasizes the natural timber of the instrument and situates it in an acoustic space that is both clear and warm, allowing all details of bowing, articulation and dynamics to be perceived without harshness. This makes the disc suitable both for attentive listening by experienced music-lovers and for listeners who wish to discover classical violin music through a refined and accessible program.
As a concertmaster, Ferenc Kiss brings to this recording the experience of a musician accustomed to leading and shaping an orchestral sound. His playing is marked by stylistic awareness, a keen sense of ensemble and a flexible, breathing sense of tempo, qualities that derive from many years of orchestral and chamber practice. This portrait CD allows his musical personality to emerge: an interpreter who combines precision, balance and emotional depth, and who knows how to captivate the listener through the purity of his tone and the clarity of his musical discourse.
