Description:Ferenc Kiss was born in Budapest in 1943. He began to play the violin and piano at the age of 5, first learning with his father who was concert master of the Hungarian Radio Orchestra, then at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music from 1959, and also inDüsseldorf with Sándor Végh. He made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 20, and from 1965 he played throughout Europe, Mexico and Japan, as well as making recordings for numerous Radio and TV Stations all over the world. From 1963 he became concertmaster of the Philharmonia Hungarica, then later at Opera Saarbrücken 1968-74, München Symphonie Orchestra 1974-79, and from1979 at the German State Philharmonic Orchestra. He has been a guest concertmaster and soloist for many years with orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra, Köln Radio Orchestra, Opera Nürnberg, Basque National Orchestra (San Sebastian), Orchestra Sinfonica di Bolzano e Trento, Symphony Orchestra Xalapa (Mexico) and Pro Arte Orchestra München. This is his first Portrait album.
This CD presents the artistry of concertmaster and violinist Ferenc Kiss in an intimate portrait that highlights his expressive tone, technical refinement and stylistic versatility. Across a carefully curated selection of works for solo violin and small ensemble, Kiss demonstrates the breadth of his musical personality: from cantabile, singing lines and nuanced phrasing to virtuosic passagework with crystal-clear articulation. The recording focuses on musicality rather than pure display, allowing the listener to experience the depth of his sound, the warmth of his vibrato and his finely shaped dynamics in both lyrical and brilliant sections.

"Portrait Konzertmeister Ferenc Kiss Violine" is designed as a listening journey through different moods and colours of the violin repertoire, offering both introspective moments and lively, dance-like pieces. The transparent recording technique emphasizes the natural acoustics and places the violin in an authentic space, making the CD ideal for attentive listening as well as for relaxed enjoyment. Thanks to its coherent dramaturgy and high artistic level, this album is equally suitable for connoisseurs of classical violin music and for listeners who are just discovering the instrument.

Ferenc Kiss, as a concertmaster, brings the experience of leading an orchestra to his solo playing. His interpretation is characterized by stylistic awareness, a secure sense of ensemble and a refined sense of timing, all of which stem from years of orchestral and chamber music work. The portrait character of this CD allows his musical identity to come to the fore: an artist who combines precision with emotional depth and who understands how to tell stories purely through sound.

The CD is released by Bella Musica, a label known for its focus on classical music and carefully produced recordings. Bella Musica places great importance on clear, natural sound and on presenting artists in a way that is true to their musical intentions. Over the years, the label has built a catalogue that covers a broad spectrum of the classical repertoire, from solo and chamber music to orchestral works, often highlighting distinctive performers and well-conceived program concepts. With this release, Bella Musica once again underlines its commitment to artistically and acoustically appealing productions that are made for lasting listening enjoyment.
