Steve Hackett s'est fait connaître comme guitariste au sein de la formation classique de Genesis dans les années 1970, période au cours de laquelle il a largement contribué à définir le son progressif du groupe. Il a ensuite entamé une carrière solo prolifique, marquée par de nombreux albums studio et live, où se croisent rock progressif, influences classiques, musique acoustique et sonorités venues d'autres cultures. Ses concerts sont réputés pour leur grande virtuosité, la construction soignée des programmes et le respect profond qu'il porte à l'héritage de Genesis, qu'il revisite régulièrement au travers de projets scéniques ambitieux.
