Steve Hackett se dio a conocer como guitarrista de la formación clásica de Genesis en los años setenta, etapa en la que contribuyó de forma decisiva a definir el sonido progresivo del grupo. Más tarde inició una prolífica carrera en solitario con numerosos discos de estudio y en directo, en los que combina rock progresivo, elementos clásicos, música acústica y diversas influencias globales.
