Vinyl LP pressing. Twenty years ago, in April 1999, Ipecac Records was formed to release Fantômas' debut release (a band featuring Mike Patton, Dave Lombardo, Trevor Dunn and Buzz Osborne from The Melvins). During that time, Buzz said, "We told Greg that if they wanted to start a label then The Melvins would love to be involved. We asked if he would be interested in doing a trilogy of releases within one year and they said no problem." That year The Melvins released The Maggot, The Bootlicker and The Crybaby via Ipecac.
Issued in a gatefold sleeve with black generic inner sleeves and a download card. Stamped runouts, except the respective last two figures which are etched. Track "The Green Manalishi" is misspelled "The Green Manilishi" in track listing and credits. Songs of "The Maggot" are separated into two equal parts like when the album was first released in 1999: so there are 8 track marks for 4 songs on sides A and B respectively. Contrary to the earlier CD release they are not listed twice. Also the first two tracks were written differently back then, "amazon" and "AMAZON", now they both appear as "amazon". Produced at Louder Studios in San Francisco, CA January 1999
"The Maggot & The Bootlicker" is a double LP that unites two of the Melvins' most distinctive and experimental albums in one powerful package.
