"The Road Band 1948 Vol.1+2" est un coffret double CD du légendaire clarinettiste et chef d'orchestre de jazz Woody Herman édité par le label britannique Hep Records. Cette compilation rassemble des enregistrements live datant de 1948 qui témoignent de l'énergie débordante et des arrangements novateurs ayant fait la renommée mondiale des orchestres de Woody Herman dans le monde du big band jazz américain d'après-guerre. Les morceaux mettent en avant aussi bien les solistes virtuoses que la cohésion remarquable de l'ensemble ' entre tradition swing et modernité audacieuse propre à cette période créative chez Hermann.
