Sortis à la fin des années 80 et au début des années 90, ces enregistrements capturent l'énergie brute et le son noise-rock expérimental qui ont défini les débuts de The Jesus Lizard. Le groupe s'est fait connaître par ses prestations scéniques intenses et sa démarche novatrice dans le post-hardcore ; il est devenu culte sur la scène rock alternatif internationale et a inspiré de nombreux artistes à travers les genres musicaux grâce à ses albums salués par la critique.
