« Spiderland » de Slint est un album révolutionnaire sorti au format CD et produit par le label indépendant renommé Touch & Go/Cargo. Paru à l'origine en 1991, « Spiderland » s'est imposé comme une référence incontournable du post-rock et du math-rock grâce à son atmosphère sombre et hypnotique ainsi qu'à ses guitares complexes et ses compositions dynamiques atypiques. Les six morceaux qui composent cet opus témoignent du talent singulier de Slint pour mêler passages parlés intenses à des montées explosives sur fond d'arrangements minimalistes saisissants ; avec le temps « Spiderland » est devenu culte auprès des amateurs exigeants et inspire encore aujourd'hui toute une génération de musiciens alternatifs.
Formé à la fin des années 80 à Louisville dans le Kentucky malgré une carrière brève marquée seulement par deux albums majeurs ' dont ce chef-d''uvre ' le groupe laisse une empreinte profonde sur la scène musicale indépendante mondiale : leur approche novatrice tant dans l'écriture que dans les textures sonores distingue nettement leur héritage artistique ; « Spiderland », notamment pour sa force émotionnelle brute reste salué unanimement par la critique spécialisée.

This is one of those records that are truly unique and by listening to this album you open many doors to different bands and music genres. It is very fairly considered one of the first post-rock albums although there are also some post-hardcore influences. And also an iconic album cover that truly matches what you hear

One of my favorite albums from the 90's.
This is a highly tensed and very dramatic American Meth-Rock that in my opinion has an enormous influence on both metal and alt-rock later on. Only 6 tracks that close almost 40 minutes, but each track is a killer.
The sound on the CD is great. the art is very minimal (too minimal actually). The nice front picture is by Bonnie 'Prince' Billy.
In retrospect, Maybe I should have bought this on a record rather than a CD. Other than that - This is a brilliant rock album
