| Description: | Hesperia is the ancient name of Italy and this one-man project, from Macerata, Italy, received great reviews on his latest cd ??Roma II?. Now Doc Records releases this great album on three different vinyl-formats (black, white marmered and gold marmered). The concept is obviously about Rome, and this is the second ??wolf?? volume (??eagle?? was the first); the Capitoline she-wolf that suckled Romulus and Remus, and Mars?? wolf, embodying the ??war?? spirit. It reflects 7 centuries through wars and battles from the foundation of Rome to the creation and fall of the Roman Empire.
Hesperia stands for atmospheric pagan black metal. This album is more extreme than the previous ones, and full of pure, true and rough black metal, with complex and frenzy parts, without forgetting the spiritual feelings and epic atmospheres. Most lyrics are mainly screamed in Latin with the ancient Roman pronunciation, and the music can be compared to the sound of bands like Absu, Thyrfing, Limbonic Art, Enslaved, Bathory, Arcturus, Primordial, Ancient Rites, Satyricon, Borknagar and Immortal.
