Description:Last Hand is a song cycle in blues and roots style which tells the story of a May-December romance. It's Al Basile's 17th solo CD, and he sings these new songs of his with a keyboard trio backing him up drawn from the Duke Robillard Band who have been on his CDs going back ten years. Al wrote, arranged, and produced this project. It will have a 200 station radio promotional campaign by Todd Glazer Promotions, a four month publicity campaign by Mark Pucci Media, and print ads in Living Blues, Blues Music Magazine, and Blues Blast. Al says: "For the first time after forty years of recording and twenty of making my own records, I decided t add the producer's hat to my hatrack. This one's all on me - it was time.
"Last Hand" on CD is an atmospheric and finely crafted release by Basile, al, published by the independent label Sweetspot Records. The album presents a coherent musical journey, characterized by detailed arrangements, emotional depth, and a strong sense of storytelling across its tracks. Whether through quieter, introspective moments or more energetic passages, "Last Hand" feels like a carefully sequenced listening experience rather than just a collection of songs, inviting the listener to sit down and take in the record from start to finish.

Basile, al appears here as a focused and mature artist whose work is marked by subtle melodic ideas, nuanced harmonies, and an ear for dynamic tension. The production places clear emphasis on musical clarity and atmosphere, allowing each part to find its place in the mix. Listeners who appreciate albums that reward repeated listening will find "Last Hand" to be a rich and immersive record that gradually reveals more detail with every spin.

Sweetspot Records is known as a boutique label with a strong emphasis on quality and artistic integrity. Rather than chasing short-lived trends, the label focuses on carefully curated releases that give artists the space to develop their own sonic identity. With "Last Hand", Sweetspot Records once again underlines its profile as a home for distinctive, well-produced music that stands out through its coherence and emotional resonance.

As a CD edition, "Last Hand" is ideal for listeners who value physical media: it offers stable sound quality, the possibility to enjoy the album in its intended track order, and--depending on the edition--room for artwork and liner notes that visually complement the musical concept. Overall, this release is aimed at discerning music fans who appreciate detail, atmosphere, and a clearly defined artistic vision.
