 | | Description: | Live At Tj's, Newport, Wales is an album by Fall, released in 2018. The album is a rock CD. - .. WALESWhen Mark E Smith died in January 2018, an era ended with him. The Fall were an English post-punk band, formed in 1976 in Prestwich, Greater Manchester. They underwent many line up changes, with vocalist and founder Smith as the only constant member. First associated with the late 1970s punk movement, the Fall's music underwent numerous stylistic changes, often concurrently with changes in the group's lineup. Nonetheless, their music has generally been characterised by an abrasive, repetitive guitar-driven sound, tense bass and drum rhythms, and Smith's caustic lyrics, described by critic Simon Reynolds as "a kind of Northern English magic realism that mixed industrial grime with the unearthly and uncanny, voiced through a unique, one-note delivery somewhere between amphetamine-spiked rant and alcohol-addled yarn." They were always at their best on stage, and this collection captures them in full flow. Fantastic!Recorded live at TJ's, Newport, Wales on 16h April 2001."Live At TJ's" is a live CD by the influential British post-punk band The Fall, capturing the raw, uncompromising energy that made the group a cult institution. Recorded in an intimate club setting, this release showcases Mark E. Smith's unmistakable vocal delivery, the hypnotic, repetitive grooves of the band and the abrasive guitar lines that defined their sound. The setlist focuses on driving, riff-oriented tracks, combining angular rhythms, sardonic lyrics and an almost improvised live feel. This CD is aimed at listeners who appreciate authentic, unpolished live recordings that document a band in full command of its unique aesthetic rather than a polished "best of" performance. The Fall, founded in late-1970s England around the charismatic and relentlessly prolific Mark E. Smith, are regarded as one of the seminal post-punk bands. Over decades they released a large number of albums and became known for constant evolution, shifting line-ups and a fiercely individual style that influenced countless alternative and indie bands. Their legacy is built on originality, independence and an instantly recognizable sound that bridged punk attitude, experimental rock and sharp social commentary. The CD is released by Cog Sinister, a label closely associated with The Fall and their catalogue. Cog Sinister is known for focusing on material from the band's orbit, including live recordings and archival releases, and has played an important role in making rare or hard-to-find performances available to dedicated fans. With "Live At TJ's", Cog Sinister continues this work by offering an authentic document from the band's touring history, aimed at collectors and long-time followers as well as curious newcomers who want to experience The Fall in a direct concert atmosphere. | | | No. of tracks: |
