.. Nations / Mediabook Edition Of 1986 Album W/ Bonus T |
 | | Description: | Since the 1970s Saxon has consistently showcased an ability to take rock 'n' roll and give it an electrifying edge, cementing their status as pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal along the way. Recorded at Wisseloord Studios, Hilversum in the Netherlands by Gary Lyons, 1986's Rock The Nations served as Saxon's eight full-length effort overall and found the band revisiting their raw NWOBHM roots. It's most notable for it's unlikely guest appearance by none other than Elton John on piano on the tracks "Northern Lady" and "Party Til You Puke."On back cover & disc face:

Azmi H. - 27/Sep/2022 This album is a return to form in the vein of Wheels Of Steel/Strong Arm/Denim And Leather. Nearly every song has a killer riff and you can tell the energy and fire is there.
| | Ivica S. - 30/Jan/2021 Every Song on this one is 5 star quality. Musically, this album had a sound somewhere between AC/DC and Judas Priest, two of my favorite bands of the time. Highly recommended
| | Valeriy R. - 26/Aug/2020 A deluxe digibook (with fantastic booklet!) edition (2018) of very impressive album (1986) from classical British heavy metal band. Great album stuff and strong bonuses. A top thing; definitely, best edition of this album!
| | Yuriy P. - 03/Jan/2019 The eighth album of the British, it seems, has decided to drive mad all the fans of the band again. The disc just completely lacks any zest - completely standard riffs and melodies. And this standard comes through right in everything - from the technique of performance, going to music and lyrics. In my memory, Saxon is one of the rarest groups that managed to write a bunch of walk-through albums and stay on track. An interesting fact is that Elton John took part in the recording of the album, namely in the songs “Party 'Til You Puke” and “Northern Lady” one can hear the unobtrusive and light piano parts of his works. Despite the very average status of this record, Saxons go on tour with the Swedish guitar master and the legend of the neoclassical metal Yngwie Malmsteen and his Rising Force. The quality of the recording of the album does not need to be mentioned, since Saxo never cared about in this regard. Vocals sound great, not showing even a hint of old age. The following songs were chosen as singles: the title middle tempo "Rock the Nation", the faster "Waiting For The Night" and the ballad "Northern Lady", and the clips were also shot on them. If we characterize the above-mentioned things in more detail, then nothing comes to mind except designating them with full soothers, because they carry nothing to the mind or the heart. This is how, at the very least, one of the founders of the new wave of British heavy metal fed fans for three years, throwing high-sound phrases not to shake it, not to torture a toothless and boring rock nation.
