"The Now Now" is a studio album by the virtual band Gorillaz, released here in the classic LP (vinyl) format and manufactured by Parlophone Label Group (PLG). Musically, this record presents a more focused and intimate side of the band, with warm synths, grooving bass lines and laid-back beats that blend alternative pop, electronic influences and subtle funk elements. Compared to earlier, more feature-heavy albums, "The Now Now" feels more streamlined and cohesive, offering a consistent sonic journey from start to finish that suits the immersive character of vinyl particularly well.
The LP edition emphasizes the tactile and collectible nature of the release: the larger cover art, the analog listening experience and the sequencing of the tracks over two sides invite listeners to experience the album as a complete work rather than a collection of individual songs. "The Now Now" is ideal for fans who appreciate Gorillaz' melodic, reflective and sometimes dreamy side, and for vinyl collectors looking for a contemporary yet timeless-sounding production that plays with nostalgia without being retro.
