 | | Description: | Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of this 1988 album. Includes the 12 original album tracks plus 20 related bonus tracks including many a-sides/b-sides and extended versions. Jermaine Stewart hailed from the mid-west of the USA and became a successful solo singer after spells as a dancer on the renowned US TV show Soul Train, a brief stint with Shalamar and was backing vocalist on Culture Club's 1983 album Colour By Numbers after being befriended by the band's bassist Mikey Craig. It is reported that the band introduced Jermaine to Arista supremo Clive Davis and a deal was done. He went on to release four studio albums and enjoyed both single and album chart success between 1983-1990. Tragically Jermaine Stewart died in 1997. The album was produced by Andre Cymone - bassist, songwriter, performer and producer."Say It Again (Expanded+Remastered 2CD Deluxe Ed.)" is an expanded and carefully remastered deluxe edition of Jermaine Stewart's classic late-80s album, presented here as a 2-CD set in CD format by specialist label Cherry Red. This edition revisits Stewart's sophisticated blend of R&B, pop and dance, built around smooth vocals, infectious hooks and polished production that perfectly capture the era's sound while still feeling fresh and melodic today. Across the two discs, listeners can expect the original album plus a generous selection of bonus material such as rare mixes, extended versions or B-sides (where available), offering a deeper look at the sessions and singles that defined this period of Stewart's career. The remastering aims to provide greater clarity, punch and warmth, allowing both the rhythmic drive and intricate arrangements to shine for both long-time fans and new listeners discovering the album for the first time.
As a 2CD deluxe edition, the release is designed for collectors and enthusiasts: typically housed in an illustrated package that may include an expanded booklet, new liner notes and period photos, it provides historical context around the album's creation, its singles and the role it played in Jermaine Stewart's discography. The "expanded" concept underlines the archival character of the set, preserving the original track sequence while complementing it with additional material that might previously have been scattered across 12" singles, promos or out-of-print releases. For admirers of 80s R&B and dance-pop, this edition serves both as a definitive version of "Say It Again" and as a curated archive of its era-defining mixes and variants.
