Digipak. 2016 release, the fifth album from the experimental hip hop group from Sacramento, California. Contains "Giving Bad People Good Ideas," "Spikes," "Hot Head," and "Three Bedrooms In A Good Neighborhood." Formed in 2010, the group consists of rapper/vocalist Stefan Burnett, known by his stage name MC Ride, drummer and producer Zach Hill, and co-producer Andy Morin. The band's music has been characterized as drawing on hip hop, industrial, punk, electronic and noise music. In 2015, The Skinny called them "the first truly important band of the twenty-first century". Following several broken performance commitments, the group announced their "disbanding" in July 2014 along with the release of their fourth album The Powers That B. However, in March 2015 the group revealed that they "might make some more" music and later announced the release of Bottomless Pit. Now JEWEL CASE style.
"Bottomless Pit" is a CD release by the experimental hip-hop/industrial group Death Grips, issued by Caroline. The album plunges listeners into an aggressive, high-pressure sound world that fuses harsh electronics, distorted beats and confrontational vocal performances. Tracks are densely layered, oscillating between brutally fast rhythms and sudden, claustrophobic slowdowns, creating a sense of controlled chaos that has become a hallmark of the band. Lyrically, "Bottomless Pit" continues Death Grips' cryptic, fragmented style, full of dark imagery, social alienation and digital-age paranoia. The production pushes the limits of loudness and texture, making this CD an intense, immersive experience for fans of boundary-pushing music. Caroline, as the releasing label, stands for forward-thinking artists and niche genres, providing a platform for projects that challenge mainstream expectations and appeal to listeners looking for something uncompromising and original. Their work with acts like Death Grips underlines a commitment to experimental sounds and innovative releases. Death Grips have established themselves as one of the most distinctive and influential acts in experimental hip-hop and alternative music of the 2010s, known for their raw energy, genre-defying approach and cult-like following. Across their discography, they have attracted critical acclaim for redefining the edges of rap, punk and electronic music, building a reputation as a band that consistently tests the boundaries of what a music project can be, in both sound and presentation.
I had a friend who recommended this album to me. I'm not a rap/hip hop kind of guy but I trusted his judgement. I listened to this album when I was home alone and it was an experience I will never forget. GREAT GREAT ALBUM!!!
