Description:
The authorship of these Recorder Sonatas are worthy of a character study involving deception at it's core making these perhaps as much historic curios as works to be considered. Written by the musette player and composer of some note, Nicolas Chedeville submitted a grouping of his compositions, attributed them to Vivaldi for greater profits, and only in 1990 was definitive proof established of the subterfuge. The shrouded provenance of these sonatas are contrasted with solid performances by the Ensemble Pro Musica along with noted Early Music soloists, Stefano Bagliano (recorder), Andrea Coen (harpsichord and organ). With extensive liner notes.
