| Description: | Sokif is a composer from Tokyo, Japan. His previous albums on the Revirth label were all beat oriented and received great attention in the Tokyo underground scene, but this new album reveals his composer side and as a trained classical pianist. Not to mention his major in university was musicology, "Affectionate Unselfish" is comprised of perfectly constructed songs featuring 4 female vocalists - Calu (Matryoshka), Eriko Kuribayashi, Kana Otsubo (Spangle called Lilli Line) and Jo Mango (from UK, also performs in the Vashti Bunyan band) spending 2 years in making. Under his treatments, those vocals become "samples" and mixed with piano, cello, sax and electronics which gives US impression as if listening to an opera in heaven with angelic voices echoing around. |
