Psychotic Supper

From the very first chords of the opening song "Change In The Weather" you understand that this is how real hard rock should be. Heavy guitar riffs, loud vocals, catchy melody and even power metal elements. The same signs are characteristic of the following three songs: the hit "Edison's Medicine", the fast-paced power metal "Don't De Rock Me" and the rather heavy "Call It What You Want". The following compositions, especially "Time" and "What You Give", are clearly inspired by the "zeppelinomania" characteristic of hard rock of that time. The acoustic 58-second "Government Personnel" is an echo of the previous successful album "Five Man Acoustical Jam" and again a tribute to fashion. The main plus of "Psychotic Supper" is the complete absence of commercial moves in the music, manifested in the relief of the sound and tearful ballads. One of the last decent hard rock albums of the 90s before the all-out grunge onslaught.

Tesla sind irgendwie als typisches US-Phänomen an mir vorbeigegangen. Zu Unrecht. Allein was hier an Top Gitarrenarbeit abgeliefert wird rechtfertigt den Kauf dieses Albums.
