Description:While The Ages Roll is an album by Ralph Stanley, released in 1990. The album is a bluegrass CD. -
While The Ages Roll On (2000) / This gospel album captures the essence of the unique mountain sound. Backed by the Clinch Mountain Boys and augmented with some bass vocals by Shelton Feazell and George Shuffler, Dr. Stanley handles almost all of the lead vocals himself and adds some interesting new songs to his already huge repertoire. Three powerful a cappella numbers- "Gone Away With a Friend," "The Day is Past and Gone," and "Waiting for Me"- are highlights on this collection featuring songs written by Earl Sykes and Coielle Church.
Field recordings of Cortez D. Reece, southern West Virginia, 1949 -1953. "This CD, the first published recording from Reece's work, presents nearly all the religious and labor songs Reece recorded." Track durations taken from CD player (not given on product).
