Description:
As Is -Digi- by Manfred Mann, released 25 October 2004, includes the following tracks: "Each Other's Company", "Dealer Dealer", "Another Kind Of Music", "Autumn Leaves" and more.
This version of As Is -Digi- comes as a 1xCD. - 1966 RE-ISSUE, 1ST TIME ON CD IN EUROPE
"As Is (Mono & Stereo Version)" on CD presents a carefully curated edition of early Manfred Mann recordings, bringing together both mono and stereo mixes to showcase the band's original sound in all its nuance. This release is aimed at listeners who value historical authenticity as much as sonic clarity: the mono versions capture the punch, immediacy and club-like atmosphere of the 1960s studio sessions, while the stereo mixes open up the arrangements, placing vocals, keyboards, guitar and rhythm section more distinctly in the stereo field. The result is a listening experience that allows you to rediscover familiar material from two complementary perspectives and appreciate the fine details of performance and production that are often lost in standard reissues. Housed on a high-quality CD, this edition is ideal for collectors and for anyone who wants a focused, album-style immersion into Manfred Mann's formative sound rather than a random compilation.
Mannfred Mann - led in its classic era by keyboardist Manfred Mann - became one of the key British rhythm & blues and beat groups of the 1960s. Known for their sophisticated arrangements, distinctive keyboard textures and strong vocals, they bridged pure R&B roots with more pop-oriented songwriting and later moved into more progressive directions. Over the years, Manfred Mann and incarnations of his band have achieved sustained international recognition and a lasting reputation as craftsmen of intelligent, melodic rock and pop. Their work has influenced subsequent generations of musicians who value both strong songwriting and inventive arrangements.
The CD is released by Creature Music Ltd., a specialist label that focuses on carefully prepared catalogue and archival releases. Rather than mass-market reissues, Creature Music tends to prioritize sound quality, attention to detail and respect for original artwork and liner information whenever available. Buyers can therefore expect a production that treats the source material with care -- from audio mastering through to packaging -- and is created with discerning fans and collectors in mind.
"As Is (Mono & Stereo Version)" thus stands both as a historical document and as a rewarding listening experience: an opportunity to hear Manfred Mann's material in faithful mono and revealing stereo, curated and presented by a label that has built its reputation on high-quality catalogue work.
The third British studio album by Manfred Mann, released in the United Kingdom on 21 October 1966. The group continued to exploit studio multitracking: keyboardist Mann layering Mellotrons, bassist Voormann taking over from Mike Vickers on flutes. I recommend.

Manfred Mann's first album with Mike dàbo in front is something of a mixed bag - you're never quite sure what direction they aiming at. It actually seems that one of the songs touches upon this dilemma - "Another Kind of Music" describes a person who enjoys his pop-success but at the same time wants to be a classical musician.
